A kit like can be 30 grand before you find an engine and trans, then there’s labor, or your time. So that price is pretty reasonable.

I’m okay with it being a rep. They were very simple cars. Basically go carts with drum brakes. Definitely not worth anywhere near what going rate of an original. Some reps are built better than the originals anyway, certainly have better brakes, steering components, and a stiffer chassis. You get all the classic looks with out driving a 60 year old car that you can’t modify because you’d ruin the value.
